If you are new to the world of biology and summer camp......
Marine Science Summer Camp I
August 1 - 7
Explore the variety of barrier island environments, ranging from sandy beaches to protected wetlands. Come face-to-face with many of the wondrous marine organisms that call Chincoteague, Assateague, and Wallops Islands' home. While aboard one of the Consortium's research vessels, collect plants and animals to observe and identify during interactive lab sessions. Although hands-on exploration of the coastal habitats is the foundation of this program, evenings will be spent enjoying traditional summer camp fun, including games, making a fish print t-shirt, and a supervised bonfire/picnic at the beach, just to keep things rocking.
2010 Cost: $575 (includes instruction, meals, lodging, research cruises, and materials)
