The MSC Campus

The Marine Science Consortium's classrooms, labs, dormitories, and cafeteria are located on a sprawling, 30 acre campus. For the next year our campus will be a bit of a mess as we push forward with a $15 million

CAMPUS REVITALIZATON PROJECT. This project will result in a new education center, residencies, and other upgrades that will make MSC an even better place to live and learn. In the meantime we ask that you look past the construction towards our future.

Labs and Classrooms

MSC has laboratories and classrooms for precollege groups and college groups alike.

College faculty will find labs equipped with all necessary aquaria and equipment.

The Education Center (to be completed June 2010) will house MSC’s wet labs, classrooms, computer lab, bookstore, and

administrative offices. It can accommodate gatherings of up to 100 people as well as many types of educational disciplines.

Residences & Cafeteria

To be completed in January 2010, just in time for the spring field season, the 216 person residence hall is organized into small units allowing for flexibility in group sizes and numbers. All units are air-conditioned.

Each unit has a two bed bedroom and three bedrooms that will sleep four. It also has two bathrooms with double sinks, toilets, and showers.

About Family Housing

Each family is housed either in a private family-friendly Townhouse Style Dormitory or our brand new Residence Hall in which a suite is shared with another family.

Townhouse Style Dormitories are private and comfortable. Each townhouse contains 3- 4 bedrooms and one bathroom. Each bedroom contains two single beds with camp style mattresses, dressers or wardrobe and a chair. The private family-friendly townhouses are two stories with the bathroom located on the second floor. Our townhouse dormitories sleep 6-8 people and we never house more than one family group per dorm. Our townhouse style dormitories have central heat, ceiling and pedestal fans, however air-conditioning is not provided. Attached to the private townhouse style dormitory is a large meeting area with comfortable chairs and sofas, a reading room, tables to play games, and television.

Residence Hall Suites are organized with four bedrooms and two bathrooms per suite. Suites are arranged along an exterior breezeway which creates a bit more privacy for residences. Each bedroom contains two or four single beds and each bathroom has two sinks, two showers, and two toilets. Our Residence Hall suites can sleep up to 14 people and two family groups usually share a suite. All rooms are bright and comfortable with central heat, and air conditioning. Centrally located in the Residence Hall is a large lounge with comfortable chairs and sofas, tables to play games, television, and internet access.

Current college dormitories are organized along halls. Each bedroom contains two loft beds, desks, dressers, and closet. Bathrooms are shared and contain multiple shower stalls, toilets, and sinks.

A coin operated laundry is available for your convenience.

The Cafeteria has a seating capacity of 200. We serve 3 hot meals a day and also provide boxed lunches for extended field trips or boat trips.
