What to Bring to Family Camp

We want you to be comfortable, dry and warm/cool during your stay. Given the weather variables on the Eastern Shore, you should be prepared for warm days, cool evenings, and occasional rain showers.

• sleeping bag
• flashlight
• insect repellent
• suntan lotion
• sunglasses
• laundry bag
• day pack
• water bottles
• hat
• camera
• travel alarm clock
• water shoes/water sandals
• bathing suits
• long sleeve shirt
• shorts
• t-shirts
• sweatshirts
• sneakers
• underwear
• socks
• long pants
• raincoat or poncho
• sweater
• light jacket
• bandanna
• pajamas
• toiletries
• Field Clothing to get wet and slimy
• Long pants and tight fitting shoes that can get muddy
• extra pillow
• Medications

• soap

Some families prefer to send their belongings ahead of them. This is great solution for certain modes of travel with families (especially if the Marine Science Consortium is only one stopping point of an extensive family vacation or if small children and multiple flights are concerned!).

You may send packages to:
C/O The Special Programs Coordinator
The Marine Science Consortium
34001 Mill Dam Rd
Wallops Island, Virginia 23337

*Please note your name, program and program dates on the outside of your package.

Ship your packages via either the U.S. Mail or Federal Express and we will be happy to receive them and help you ship them out after your stay. Because this is a rural area please allow 14 days for your package to arrive.
