Summer Camps for Kids & Teens

MSC offers a variety of summer camps and courses that give all campers a hands-on, feet wet experience. Camps and courses are offered for the following ages:
Budding Marine Biologists - ages 10 - 12
Budding Marine Biologist camps are for students who have completed grades 4-6, and are new to the world of biology and summer camp. Campers explore coastal habitats, interact with marine and terrestrial critters, but still have time for the traditional summer camp evening fun. Resident instructors and chaperons supervise students. Resident chaperons live in the dormitory facility with students and supervise them during non-class time. The instructors are experienced Marine Science teachers and will maintain a proper educational atmosphere during lectures and field trips. A field notebook and pencil are required.
Junior Marine Biologists - ages 13 - 15
Junior Marine Biologist courses are for students who have completed grades 7-9, and are interested in learning about selected topics in biology, ecology animal behavior. Each one-week course emphasizes fieldwork, with most of the day spent in the natural environment gaining practical sampling and field science experience.
Aspiring Marine Biologists - ages 16 - 18
Aspiring Marine Biologist courses are designed for high school students who have completed grades 10-12, and are looking for an in-depth exposure to an area within the field of marine biology. Participants in these programs will be engaged in educational activities throughout most of the day and evenings. Each in-depth course will have some crossover activities with a concurrent college-level course.
