Wetlands of the Eastern Shore Kayak Paddle
September 1st
8:30am - 4:30 pm
Get ready to spend the day learning about wetlands and exploring the magnificent Pocomoke River by kayak! The Pocomoke River is one of the most stunning and wild places to paddle in the Chesapeake Bay region. The river is narrow but deep and meanders up from the Northeast corner of Fishing Bay through the fertile heart of Eastern Shore farms. Using tandem kayaks, each participant will enjoy a exciting journey through the Pocomoke River. As they paddle, participants will receive on-the-spot lessons about the ecology of the river from a Marine Science Consortium Naturalist.
Cost: $65/participants (includes instruction, kayak, transportation and lunch)
Classes meet at the Marine Science Consortium: 7278 Enterprise St. Wallops Island, VA 23337. Please, call (757) 824-5636 on M - F between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM or email specialprog@msconsortium.org to make reservations.
